Wind Farm Work

With a huge worldwide push in investment in Eco friendly energy, offshore wind farms have sprung up along the UK coastline. As a company, we have quickly adapted to the requirements of the wind farm development, with a large investment of equipment and crew, we are in an even better position to support the many varied tasks and jobs that are essential to the ongoing operation and maintenance of the turbines.  Over the last 2 years, some of our team have been working hard on the Rhyl Flats Windfarm. The work has been carried out for M T Hojgarrd. This is a specialist job installing Spring bearings for a modification due to a design fault with the grout.

Work has included: Welding, Plasma cutting, Welding Robot, Burning, sandblast, paintwork, installation of bearings, J tube modification, engineering, inspection.

This job is due to be completed this Autumn (2014) Due to our experience in this field, we are hoping that this work may lead on to more work in this field on other wind farms in the future.

Our compact work boat Arethusa, has been busy over the last 12 months. It has assisted Navitus Bay wind farm with research on the proposed site for their wind farm on the south coast. Being an 8m Cygnus Cyclone, it has the ability to work in weather conditions that would force many other small work boats back to port.

Versatility is key, as we further develop H M Denham, our 15.5m work boat. She is having a custom built pioneering ROV camera system built to enhance her work scope with offshore survey work in conjunction with J Tech Developments.

Being such a stable platform Denham's huge open deck space, twin cranes, dive lift and high load carrying capacity, coupled with the latest electronics and navionics, make her an ideal choice for many marine engineering and survey roles.
